Vancouver here I come !!!

Not sure how but tomorrow I'm going to Vancouver to watch the 2 teams we have to beat to get into the championship game. There were a couple players going to go with me but they decided to go home and see their families instead. So I was going to take the car. Not sure its worth it or not. Will look at the weather and decide when I wake up. Thing is I might go to Lions game tomorrow night and don't think I can get a ferry home after. But where do I stay ? Vancouver is not a friendly city after dark. If I stay over I can go see Jake on Sunday. But where to stay ? Jodi is too far away for that time of night. Maybe take my sleeping bag and find a place outside of the city and sleep in my car. hmmmmmmmm

will let you know what happens after I get back.

Have a good weekend !!!

Oh yay it's laundry day !!!

Just resting up a bit from work before I head out to do my laundry. I let it go as long as I can. I still have a day or two but might as well get it over with. Going to have some of the football players over Friday night to play Madden 2006 on the xbox and to let them see all the pictures I've taken from football games. Going to try and get some guys to go to the mainland Saturday for the Okanagan vs Surrey game. The winner of the game should finish tied with us on top but they had both beat us earlier on in the season by bigger scores than we beat them. That would mean they would get first. Some bad news from the league stand point but sort of good news for our team....the team we beat this past week is rumoured to have folded. They only had 22 guys show up for the game against us and I think 3 players had pretty serious injuries. We were off this week then we were to go play them again in their home town. I was looking forward to another road trip. One more thing while I'm on football....a player today told me he is pretty sure the Championship game is in Burlington Ontario where ever the F that is (in his words) It is in Ontario as far as I knew but I hadn't heard Burlington. That would be cool !!!!

My new ride

Did I mention the candy ??? LOL

Chilliwack at VI Raiders 275b

Had my first ride in a Hummer today. The coach of the visiting team is an ex NFL'er and owns himself a nice Hummer. I was talking to 2 players and an assistant coach who are all from the East end of Hamilton. One is from around the house on Brittania Ave. The assistant coach is closer to my age and was talking about the Parkdale clubbers and such. He was showing me scars from when he used to get in fights with them. Anyways the Head coach sent one of the Hamilton boys to go get his Hum V and I asked if I could go with him. Wishing I had asked to drive it cause he seemed like an easy going guy, plus he was having some beers so he just might have said yes. Nice and comfy leather seats. I'll never be able to afford one but I can say I rode in one.

Good Morning

It's early here but I'm wide awake. Fell asleep watching the Aviator on DVD last night. Probably around 8:30 or 9:00pm. Tried to go back to sleep but after almost an hour decided I needed a pepsi. I went to work yesturday although I still felt pretty ill. Almost went home a couple times and ended up going on a run with the trucker to drop off floor joists and go 2 hours of O.T. Did an hour last week on a delivery so now I feel better cause will only miss half a days pay.

A big game today against the last place team in the division. The Raiders moved up to 4th in Canada from 8th after beating the 2nd and 5th ranked team. We win this game and the one in 2 weeks we will have a home playoff game. If we stay tied with Okanagan then we should have another road trip to there cause they would get first place because of total points.

Well I'm going to finish my pepsi and go lay down, feeling good but not 100% yet.

Have a good weekend !!!!

At Home Sick

I've been feeling terrible the last couple days but today I just couldn't get out of bed. It's the flu and I hate it. Upset stomach but I havn't up-chucked yet. I have diarrhea (Excessive and frequent evacuation of watery feces, usually indicating gastrointestinal distress or disorder). I stole this from Karl's site http://muskokaman.blogspot.com/ It's about time someone else started one of these so I can keep up with what's going on. I rented The Longest Yard last night and gotta say the old one is way better. Didn't care for this version at all. All the updated tricks and camera views did nothing to help it. I picked up the old one a couple weeks ago for under 10 bucks. Ok I gotta go rest some more, will update if anything changes but I promise no pictures LOL.

Back...almost

Hey everyone and thanks for the comments. It has been tough on me lately cause I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing. I've been wearing my emotions on my sleeve lately. I talked to the landlord and told them I'd give them proper notice soon. My foreman has offered to store my stuff in his garage if I help him clean it up. I told him I'd help anyways. He has been pretty supportive except for the fact he tells me at least once every day that the place will miss me when I'm gone. I know I have a job when I go back and I told him if he's still there I want a raise LOL. I'm going to wait till football season is over cause I'm commited to the team out here. Should be done early November if we keep rolling and winning like we have been. Last week we knocked off the #2 ranked team in Canada and this week we squeeked out a win over the #5 ranked team that had only lost one game this year and that was to the team we beat last week. We have 2 games left both against the weakest team in our division. I told the guys on the team that I know well, not to look past these games cause this team doesn't want to only win one game all year so they will be hungry.

This past weekend was fun. We went to the Okanagan Valley to play the Sun's. We stayed in a nice hotel on the team with supper and breakfast on them as well. I spent Saturday night in the hot tub after I left the bar and then was back in the hot tub when it oppened at 6:30am. I got my money's worth LOL. Right after the team won we hopped in the van and raced back to the ferry to catch the early one and get home before midnight instead of 2:00am. Most of us in the van had to be at work for 7:00am monday morning. I met alot of family of players who were all comming up to me thanking me for the great job on the 2 web sites I do for the team. Some of them had emailed me so it was nice putting faces to emails. If things stay the same as they are now and we finish tied with Okanagan we will have to make another trip there cause they will get first place. Thats of course after we beat the 3rd place team.

well this is more than I had planned to write. I seem to have the flu. Fell to sleep at about 6:30pm last night on the couch then got up at 9 and went to bed. Still hit the snooze twice this morning. Was on the couch now but popped on to check email. Take care all and thanks again.

Love you all !!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Dad

(The following is just some thoughts I needed to get out not meant to be shown to dad)

Dear Dad
Well I guess right about now you would be just off the west coast of Vancouver Island. I was really looking forward to meeting you in Victoria today especialy because it's your birthday. Aunt Gladys, Paul and his family and I were looking forward to bringing a cake down to you. Going for dinner and just enjoying being with you on your birthday. It was nice seeing you in Seattle although it wasn't for very long. I was more than happy to take that trip down there to see you off even if it was for a shorter time. I hope you had a wonderfull time and got to see some whales. I'm sure you saw lots of beautifull scenery along the Alaskan coast. I hope you got lots of good pictures. I'll call you on sunday so you can tell me about your trip. I'm glad we were able to do this for you.

I've been doing alot of thinking lately remembering growing up. Going to football games home and road trips, fishing trips and camping up north, the Ireland trip, the stores we had, moving up north, learning to drive and backing your truck into the car while parking, but the one thing I always remember is you being there for us. One prime example is way back in the Brittania days when things were not so easy and you would be in the hospital at Christmas time. Waking up in the morning seeing you at the kitchen table was the best Christmas gift ever. Being kids we may not have thought that at the time but thinking back now I can't remember any of the toys but I can remember seeing you in the kitchen drinking a coffee. You'd sign yourself out and take a cab home to be there with us. Then later that day you would have to take a cab back. There are many many more memories that fill my mind. One more memory I'll mention goes back to Brittania Ave again. Sunday mornings !!! Johnny Cash and the smell of fresh bread being made in the morning to family dinner with us all sitting down eating Sunday dinner as one big happy family !! You and mom did a great job raising us. I hope you know this !!!

I want you to know I love you. That I have always looked up to you. That I wanted to be like you. It's been real hard since hearing about the cancer because there is nothing I can do to help you with it. I can't even think about it without getting choked up and teary eyed. Even though I can't talk about it with you I want you to know that I'm here for you. Any way I can help you I will. I wish I could take some of the pain for you. I wish I could make it all go away.

Love Allways
Kevin

Still in Vancouver area

Hi all.
Just wanted to let you know I'm alive and well and back in B.C. Was a good trip to Seattle but very short. Couldn't get a bed for a second night so had to try and get a bus out of Seattle. 3:15pm bus was full so had to wait till 6:15 bus. Decided to go to the Space Needle and took a few pictures of the cruise ship pulling out. It actualy pulled out at 4:15pm. Then I decided to grab a cab back to bus depot but it probably would have been just as fast to walk. I had walked everywhere around Seattle. Road work and one way streets and no left turn signs made the cab ride alot longer than it should have been. Plus we got behind some horse drawn carriages that are so slow. Anyways I got the bus back to B.C. and got off at the border. Called Jodi to come pick me up but apparently there is more than one border crossing and we were at different ones. I started walking up the road she told me to and after many km's they drove up. Good thing it was the right road which goes all the way to the other border crossing. Anyways I'm there now and will fill the rest in later. I did see Dad and Jean and we had lunch before we parted. Will have pictures on by tomorrow. Later all !!!!
