Christmas 2007

Its been a while since I wrote anything on her but not much has been happening. Can't sleep tonight so I thought I would post some Christmas pictures. Patty Ben and I had our own little Christmas in the morning where Santa was very good to all three if us. Santa was even good to our little Jack. After we opened the gifts we cleaned up then started getting ready for our trip to Fanny Bay. Cousins Lance and Valarie live up island a little ways and we were all invited there for Christmas dinner. We rode up with Eric Dineen and their little baby. I haven't been feeling well since I had broke my ribs and I was feeling real ill that day. I found a good spot on the couch and took a few photos then stretched out while everyone ate dinner. My favourite dinner and I passed on it shows how ill I was feeling. I must thank Valarie and my wife for doing up a plate for me which I ate the next day for lunch. I probably would have eaten too much if I had been better.

I want to wish Sam and Aleah congratulations as they will be getting married on Dec 31 which just happens to be Patty and my first anniversary. We will be going to Chemainus to a bar called Salt Air to celebrate with friends family and some karaoke. This past year has been amazing and its surprising how two people could meet and get married after 2 months be so in Love and get along so well. Patty and I have never even had an argument and about the only thing we disagree on is football. The fact that she loves it and I can't stand it I'll never understand. She keeps saying that this is the year of the cats coming up not sure what that means LMAO. We both treat each other so well and it just comes naturally. It truly is the little things that count. You don't have to go out of the way to make that special someone feel special although the 42 inch TV we just bought doesn't hurt LOL. I thought I talked her into it but she seems to enjoy it as much if not more than I do.I'm looking forward to spending the next year and many more with the woman I love.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best in 2008!!

this and that

The winter storm is done here and yesterday was plus 13 and rain....lots of rain. Hydro had been knocked out all around Duncan but didn't affect us. It did though affect work as hydro was out all day yesterday so there was no work again tonight. That's why at 4am I'm sitting at my computer doing a blog.

Yesterday I went to see the Dr because my ribs were getting better but have since gotten worse again. Found out from her that I had 4 broken ribs and a slightly collapsed lung. They had told me at the hospital at least 2 broken ribs but that everything else looked fine. She said I probably have done too much and should be resting them but told her I had gone into work from day one. Also I have to go see an ear specialist because I have a hole in my left ear that shouldn't be there. Its been there that I know of for a couple months now.

Patty has an eye infection and had gone to the Dr's with me to get checked out. I asked if we get a 2 for 1 special but no luck. Then I told the Dr that this was a date for the wife and I since we work different shifts and don't get out much. She thought that was romantic .... NOT LOL

Last night I shot out and picked up a few things at the store then after supper Ben and I used Alice's (Terry) shortbread recipe and to my surprise it worked out this time. I had only tried it one other time without much luck. We made a double batch but I bet its all gone by the end of today. Nothing lasts around here that tastes that good.

Well I'm heading down stairs to play some Xbox till Ben gets up and I take him to school.

Later Days!

Snow Day!!!

Well I believe its the most snow the island has seen in 15 years but we get the privilege of living through it now. At the top of the island at Campbell River they have at least 2 feet and here in Duncan we have at least a foot of the white stuff. It came on a good day as Patty and Ben were setting up the Christmas tree while I napped. I had a good sleep all day Friday after work but now its screwed me up for the weekend. I've been awake since 1:30am this morning and its now going on 5:30.

Worst thing is I'm addicted to my soda pop Diet Coke and have none in the house. Was thinking of walking to the 7/11 which would be about a half hour walk each way but will wait for a bit more day light. Later I will have to borrow a shovel and dig the car out.

Ben and Patty doing the tree.

Ben warming up by the fire while we listen to Christmas tunes.

Jack waiting till the tree was done so he could inspect it.

Ben decided to play in the snow after the tree was finished
