Well I was very tired 2 hours ago but after a couple games of hockey on the xbox 360 I started getting an upset stomach. I went upstairs and Patty was already sleeping and the tv was turned off so I went on my computer. Checking out old bookmarks and deleting ones that no longer exist or are not updated. I went on the Canucks web site and saw that they won tonight. Its about time!! If they had won last nights game which was supposed to be a gimme theyd be in 3rd place in front of Calgary. Then I went onto the BC Lions web site and found this Roster and there at the top is Andrew Harris' name. I truly am a huge fan of his and I hope he does well. I still want to go over for the Lions spring camp and watch him try out.

Well one week and 2 days till surgery. Cant wait to get it over with. Although I will miss it cause like tonight when Patty threw the remote at me hitting me in the stomach .... ok she tossed it to me and I let it bounce of my stomach (didn't the first way sound better?) I said hey watch the tumor!! Same as when Ben and I horse around although we don't cause Patty doesn't allow it but if we did I say hey watch the tumor!! Well its getting a little old anyways so now I'll have the stitches to say hey watch my stitches. That should work for a few days.

Well tomorrow (Saturday) we are going to Aunt Gladys' 90th birthday celebration. Looking forward to getting together with the family out here. Ben has a friend over so hes staying home. I told him if he didn't behave I'd make him and his friend come along and they'd have to dance with Aunt Gladys' friends! Haven't heard a peep from them all night. Well Patty was just up to get some milk for her heartburn so I'm going to head in and snuggle with her. Was on Twitter ... I mean Facebook for a second today and boy am I not liking that. I'm thinking I'll just add a link to my blog on there and say if you want to know what I'm up to check out my blog!

Wow another post this week!!

We were sitting around tonight watching Two and a half men. I love that show. Dad and I used to watch it when Jean wasn't home. She used to like it then it got a little too raunchy for her. Anyways in tonight's episode Charlie Sheen's character lost a testicle and was walking funny. He eventually found it and had to use a ring like a hemorrhoid one when he sat down so his acorns didn't hurt. I told Patty that I when I was a very young boy one of my testicles somehow went up inside of me. L had to keep one leg up in the air and mom kept pulling it down and I would scream and cry. Now this may be a little too much info for some of you but I'm going to tell you all anyways. One of my testicles is twice as big as the other one. Ben was there when we were talking and either him or Patty said maybe a piece got broken off way back then. That's when it hit me.... my tumor is the piece of broken off testicle that worked its way up and has stuck itself to my abdomen and has been feeding off me all these years growing bigger and bigger. So now my stomach is a huge scrotum! There is more hair on that side of my belly than the other side. I wonder if I should warn the surgeon or just let him find out for himself when he removes a huge testicle from me. That will give the nurses something to talk about LOL.

I was working outside all day and I think I got my first sunburn of the year on my head. Feels hot and a little sore to touch. Was too late when I thought of putting a hat on but I did eventually. Wow 9:00pm and I'm ready for bed.

Had a job interview in Victoria yesterday. Patty and I went down to see about a resident managers job. It was right down town a short walk from Beacon Hill Park (petting zoo) which is really close to the ocean, and only a couple of blocks from the tourist stores, Imax theater, Royal museum, Spaghetti Factory and whale watching!! The job paid great money and came with a free 2 bedroom apartment but an awful lot of work. We would see our grand daughter less than we do now but live only 18 minutes away instead of almost an hour away. Patty and I talked after we left and we both said the main reason we want to be in Victoria is for the whale watching.... I mean to be closer to Gwen!! I called them this morning to let them know if they were considering us for the job that we appreciated it but that it wasn't what we were looking for at this time. I was pretty sure they liked us when we left there and that we had a good chance but both of us would have been working non stop except for half of Saturday and all of Sunday (woo hoo) We are going to keep looking and may even apply for other jobs down there and then all of us rent a house together.

Two weeks till surgery!

Gotta say I'm really not liking Face Book and may just have to stick to blogging. Thinking about starting another blog but might get too confusing to me. I can just open this one up to the public but there are a lot of private family things on here although I do allow some close friends to visit this blog. I will make a decision over the next week. Might change the name of the blog although I still consider this paradise over Ontario. There is a spot a half hour from here that reminds me of Muskoka. Up in a place called YouBou. There is a big lake with all these houses and cottages around it. Patty and I saw places just like it in Haliburton when we were there. But no mountains or Ocean back east. Might call the blog Papa G's Place! and could even add "in paradise"

I went to the Dr's on Friday after I missed my pre op appointment earlier in the week. Showed up an hour late so had to reschedule. I have to go get my heart monitored probably tomorrow as part of the pre op. My Dr asked how it went at the surgeons and I said about the same as with any Dr. Says everything looks good but can't say 100% that its nothing. She asked if I had any concerns and I said not really about the operation but I do wonder what they are going to find when they open me up. How often have you heard that they opened someone up and they had cancer so bad that they close them right back up again. Now maybe those ppl are told they have cancer before they are opened up and then its not as big as a surprise as they make it sound when your told the story. I'm really not worried about that but I can't say it doesn't cross my mind now and then. I'm not dwelling on it I Just want to be prepared for anything I guess. Not that you can be. Maybe I'm just trying to make it seem worse than it is to get extra TLC when I get home. I can hear Patty ... hey you just had a minor liposuction operation to remove some fat when you should be eating right and exorcising so don't expect any special treatment from me!! Lately shes been telling me I'm full of shit! I try and tell her something and that's her response! Your full of shit! All I got to say to that is I LOVE YOU PATTY!!!! .... and I mean it this time!

Aunt Gladys turns 90 years old this week and Paul and Dimples are having a little party at a hall. Patty and I are looking forward to seeing everyone there. I ran into Dimples at Wal-Mart yesterday and we had a nice chat. That's where I usually run into them but I did see Paul and Lelaine at a couple hockey games.

I've been working at Vic Truss the odd day here and there but it looks like things will be slow again after next week for a bit. I hope it picks up cause thats the only way we can afford to go to Ontario this summer. One good thing about not working there I can watch more hockey and my Survivor show. Well I'm looking out my window at the rain getting ready for work. I just went over some photos I've printed off to donate to Jodi at the SPCA for an auction. We may be able to deliver them if we go to Vancouver the weekend before my surgery. I want to go to the Aquarium which I've talked about for the past few months. Maybe just a day trip parking the car walking onto the ferry and catching a city bus. I think it would be a fun trip.

Well that's all for now but I'll try to post more here as I pull away from Facebook more and more.

Day late

An Irishman's Philosophy

In life, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you die, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you will go to heaven or hell.
If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.
And if you go to hell, you’ll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends
You won’t have time to worry!

Irish Men
There are only three kinds of Irish men who can't understand women— young men, old men, and men of middle age.

An Irish Prayer (funny)
May those who love us, love us;
and those who don't love us,
may God turn their hearts;
and if He doesn't turn their hearts,
may he turn their ankles
so we'll know them by their limping

St Patty's Day!!!

Well first off Saturday our friend Carol's son and his family came to visit from Ottawa. They are here to finish the sale of Carol's house and car. Carol is the one that past away just before Christmas. They were here to visit princess the cat we took after Carol's passing. Her son Arron was surprised at how good the cat looked. She was very overweight when we got her. The stairs have help her a lot as well as the chasing by the other cats in the house. We drove to the Rock Cod Cafe in Cowichan Bay for some fish and chips. They have the best batter around. Ben had the Sockeye burger which he enjoyed very much, Patty had Halibut in a coconut batter and I had Halibut in an almond batter. We sat and told stories about Carol to her grandchildren and then gave them suggestions as for things to do while here. They are headed to Toffino and whale watching this week. I feel bad for them because it is supposed to rain all week but I'm sure they will make the best of it.

Patty decided a couple weeks ago that she wanted to have a small party to celebrate St Patty's Day so we picked Sunday the 15th so ppl would be available. We had all kinds of Irish goodies and green foods and the place was decorated as well. There was about 10 ppl not including us and we listened to the Irish rovers and pigged out. Patty made a stew in the crock pot which I bought more than a few months ago but we had never used it. When I got home from the hockey game Saturday night it smelt so good I just wanted to dive in. But I let it cook and then put it away in the fridge for Sunday. I hadn't told Patty but I decided to get a little dressed up for the occasion. Ben painted Shamrocks on everyone's face and we all wore green and had a toast with Baileys Irish Creme. If I have time Tuesday I might just get dressed up and pop into the Wal Mart photo Lab

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY!!!

I know ...not another medical update!!! Too bad it is!

Tuesday the Dr office called me and told me I had an appointment at the surgeons office the next day at 2:20. I went there today and after a short wait got to see him and the CT scan photos. The surgery is set for April 6 and if all goes well it will just be day surgery. He could not tell me for 100% that there was some chance of cancer or not. He said there was a note on the CT scan report but from what he saw he wasn't worried. Of course hes not worried hes holding the knife not going under it. He Said its in a good spot and will be easy to get out. Worst part of looking at the CT scan is I could see all the fat on my belly. Wonder if they'd go in with a vacuum and suck some of it out. They are already there so why not ? Going to play this thing up big time and get as much TLC as I can from my wife. Already putting in my order for a daily DQ Blizzard! And fish and chips every other day! I should get almost 2 weeks out of this you'd think?

So that's all for now but will have a good blog Sunday night or monday from the weekend. I hear fish and chips are on the schedule for Saturday mmm mmmm mmmmmmm!!!!

By the way the meat less hamburgers were not as good as the hot dog!!!!

Sorry its been a while since my last post. Haven't done a whole heck of a lot recently. Still waiting to hear back from my Dr about an appointment with a surgeon. Guess what I have can't be too bad if they are not rushing.

Marianne underwent surgery last friday and the surgery went well from what I've heard. She has to go to the cancer clinic and get set up for some chemo treatments. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and Shawn.

Last week I went out to a farm to try and shoot some photos of eagles but they were not cooperating and neither was the weather. Will try again soon I hope. Sat 3 hours in a blind in the rain and snow then after I packed up the weather got better as the sun came out. I had a nice seat and some books and an ipod so wasn't too bad. had to keep all but 1 window closed so the rain and cool wind didn't get in.

Had a nice video chat with Annette last week. Shes now on MSN and was using Ryan's laptop which has a built in camera and mic. She carried the computer into the kitchen so I could watch her make lunch for the next day. I used the camera with Terry once but she didn't have a cam or mic. I'd talk then wait....and wait...and wait for her to type LOL. Makes life easier when you at least have a mic.

Well heading downstairs to make some veggie burgers for supper tonight. I know sounds good but you can't have some lol. I tried a hot dog the other day and it was not bad so I bought some burgers to try for tonight. Soy burgers cause I wont try the veggie veggie burgers lol.
