Part 1 a bumpy flight

Salem Trip Part 1

Well the first day started off pretty good, we were up and out on time and at the airport without forgetting anything. The first flight was short and sweet over to Vancouver to pick up a bigger plane. It was a short wait till we were on our way to Toronto. We had decided to only bring carry on luggage but in Vancouver they were looking for volunteers to check the bags for free because they thought the plane would be to full inside. We checked the bags and didn't have to worry about them till Boston. We had just over two hour wait in Toronto but it took most of that walking across the Toronto airport to find our next gate. Toronto is a huge airport. Another smooth flight and we landed in Boston on time. Thats where the first issue came up. After renting the car and getting our luggage I couldnt get the GPS on my phone to work.

I thought maybe it was because we were in a parking garage but it still wouldn't work when we were out on the road. So we left and I was driving blind trying to find directions or a map. Two gas stations later and still no luck people looked at me weird when i asked about a map. Finally at a third gas station a guy game me directions to Salem. We had been on the right road but looking for a gas station I had turned off. So off we went on our way to Salem.

After about a half an hour I noticed the signs were saying Salem NH. That's when I realized we were headed to the wrong state. I do know my directions pretty well and turned off the hwy and started heading east. Now there wasn't much open after 10:30pm and Patty was pretty nervous. I tried to explain to her that we had been heading north and that Salem Mass. would be to the east because it was on the ocean. Patty worries about stuff like this and I really don't because I know it will eventually work out. We came across a gas station store that was well lit up and open. I went in and got directions and we were about 15 minutes from the place we were staying. We were both pretty tired and went straight to bed.

These are pictures of our yard and the age of the house we stayed in.

There is no hydro in this building but people have seen a light in the 3rd floor
window late at night!

Memorial site for 20 people that were wrongly convicted of being witches!
They hung all but one of these people and that person was pressed to death!

Giles Corey was pressed to death which means they piled rocks on him crushing him to death.
It took 3 days for him to die!

This is one of the oldest cemeteries in America

This was a pilgrim that came to America on the Mayflower!
